Qibla Direction Appears Wrong
Qibla direction deviations are usually caused by compass sensor calibration and magnetic interference.
Fix It in 30 Seconds
- Keep location services turned on.
- Calibrate the compass by moving the phone in a figure-8 pattern.
- Check again in an open area away from metal surfaces.
Step by Step
- Enable location permission and the precise location setting.
- Calibrate by moving the phone horizontally and vertically a few times.
- If there is a case or magnetic accessory, temporarily remove it.
- Reopen the compass and check the qibla line.
Why Does It Happen?
- Magnetic interference (desk, vehicle, electronic devices).
- The compass sensor's calibration being off.
- Incorrect city/location data. Verify the location the qibla calculation is based on against the city selection in the app (Google Maps/Places based; geocoding is processed on the device).
