What Is Vaktim and How Do I Get Started?
Vaktim is a spiritual companion app developed for prayer times, qibla, the Quran, dhikr and a daily worship routine. It also includes a home screen prayer times widget, the Content of the Day and the Visual widget (Emerald, Night and Visual themes), along with a spiritual badge system of 99 badges.
Solution in 30 Seconds
- Open the app; you can start using it right away without creating an account (as a guest), or sign in if you prefer.
- Grant location permission and check the prayer time calculation method.
- Turn on notification/adhan permissions and enable the first reminders.
Step by Step
1) Start as a Guest (Optional Account)
- Open the app; without signing in (as a guest) you can immediately use the core features including prayer, qibla, the Quran, dhikr and Settings. In guest mode your data is kept only on your device, and no data is created in the cloud.
- If you wish, you can later register with an email or sign in with your existing account.
- If you created an account, activate it by confirming the verification email; then complete your profile name and preferences.
2) Basic Worship Settings
- Keep location permission on and verify your city information.
- Set the prayer time calculation method according to your region.
- Personalize the adhan sound and notification type.
3) Privacy: Your First Decisions
- Analytics/diagnostics (Firebase Analytics + Sentry) is off by default; anonymous usage/error data is collected only if you turn it on with your explicit consent from Settings. If you don't want it, you don't need to do anything.
- Cloud synchronization is also off by default; because your prayer/Quran/dua/dhikr data is considered sensitive (religious) data, it is transferred to the cloud only when you enable it with explicit consent.
Premium and Subscription
Premium features are unlocked with a subscription. When you change devices or reinstall the app, you can recover your previous subscription using the "Restore purchases" option in Settings.
Why Does It Matter?
- Incorrect initial settings lead to discrepancies in prayer times.
- If notification permission is off, adhan reminders will not appear.
- Cloud synchronization is off by default and works only when you enable it with explicit consent; to turn it on, a verified account is required. Prayer/Quran/dua/dhikr data is sensitive and is not transferred to the cloud without your consent.
If It's Still Not Fixed
