Quick Start

Turning On the First Notification / Adhan Settings

For adhan notifications to work reliably, the operating system permissions must be correct just as much as the in-app reminder settings.

Solution in 30 Seconds

Step by Step

Within the App

  1. Go into the notification settings and make your per-prayer adhan selection.
  2. Choose the adhan sound from the in-app notification settings; the adhan sound is set from this in-app setting, not from the system notification sound.
  3. Save your sound and vibration preferences.
  4. To confirm the settings work correctly, you can verify by waiting for the next prayer time. (If the app has a test notification option, you can use that too.)

Android System Settings

  1. Notifications must be on for Vaktim.
  2. Settings > Apps > Vaktim > Alarms & reminders (exact alarm), turn on this permission. When this permission is off, the adhan may arrive delayed rather than exactly on time.
  3. Add the app to the battery optimization exception; check background refresh and battery restriction settings.
  4. Grant the app an exception in Focus mode / Do Not Disturb mode.

iOS System Settings

  1. Notifications must be on for Vaktim; grant the app an exception in Focus / Do Not Disturb mode.
  2. On iOS, for reliability a twin notification may be scheduled close to the prayer time; it is normal to see two notifications at one prayer time.
  3. If notifications have shifted, opening the app once is enough; the app automatically reschedules notifications on launch (self-heal).

How Does the Notification Look?

A correctly working adhan notification has a title in the format prayer time, hour and city; for example "Öğle - 13:13 - Kadıköy" (there are no flags/emojis). If you see such a notification, the setting is working correctly.

Why Does It Happen?

If It's Still Not Fixed

Send a support request stating at which prayer time the notification did not arrive and your device model.
